The Start of the Red Standard Poodles

It all started with a lady named Lise Konig who had been in Germany and returned from a dog show there in the 1980’s. She had admired a red miniature poodle at the show and come back with an idea to breed the red color into the standard size poodles. It took several years of breeding the dogs up in size but she obtained the red color and perfect temperament of the Red Standard Poodle that we have today.
